Nikolai goes to rescue the missing best friend of Blythe, his brother's mate, and ends up getting more than he thought. The moment he touches Brooklyn the mating process begins between them, even though Brooklyn is in really bad shape. Kidnapped by her uncle and surviving tortures most would have not made it through leaves Brooklyn on the edge of death, until the mate bond with Nikolai saves her and allows her to rest. Two months and Nikolai still sits by her side, bringing her his shirt which his scent is the only thing that calms her until the day she wakes and both of their worlds will never be the same as before. What follows is more drama aimed at the Dragon Riders and those they care about, some new dragons appearing and a couple having to learn just what their mate bond has in store for them, not to mention a pregnant mate for Keifer, the Dragon Rider King and Brooklyn's best friend. Lani's characters get the happy ending they deserve, but they go through the ringer to get there and still have their work cut out for them. This a great second book in an amazing series from Lani Lynn Vale and I can't wait for the next book!

Kyle and his team of SEAL brothers have been on the hunt for the man behind his brother, Nick's, death and the end is near. What he didn't count on was seeing Natalie, Nick's widow and the woman he was attracted to, going after the same man for the CIA. Natalie hopes that if she brings justice for Nick's death it will help in some way. What she didn't expect is to be drawn into Nick's SEAL team and his brother, Kyle. The two had an attraction from the first moment they met, but she was with Nick so they both ignored it. Natalie and Kyle butt heads on numerous occasions, but neither can deny the attraction is still there. One night together has Natalie running and finds them both face to face with the man responsible for Nick's death. Natalie and Kyle were both thrown for a loop with the death of Nick, but I love that they find their way together and both are so deserving of it. I loved this series from Leslie North.
April knew who Nick Barrett was, on campus there wasn't anyone who didn't with him being the star running back of the team. But what she never figured is a girl like her would ever have a chance with the star running back. But a chance encounter in the rain has her in his car and actually talking to him. Nick is used to the attention, but April gets him in a way no one has and he finds himself wanting to be around her outside of sleeping with her. Finding time between his football schedule and her law school schedule can be hard they want to see where this relationship leads them. At the ultimate high for Nick things come crashing down when his dad kicks him out for being with April and after getting the NFL deal of his dreams a picture posted of him has April turning to her best friend, Mark, and making her own mistake. Threw it all Nick and April fight to make it out on the other side together and stronger. A great read from Roxie Sinclaire.
When Jace is assigned to stop at a small store to find out what is going on in the Bitter Aces MC's town he didn't imagine how far he was willing to go to save the cute woman behind the counter. Ava knows the guys that come to her family's store can be scary, but doesn't know just how dangerous some of those guys could be. When Jace walks into her world she doesn't know at the time how much he will come to mean to her. Their lives become intertwined to save the club and save her life. What starts as trying to get information from her for the club ends up with Jace willing to do anything to keep her safe. Neither thought love would be found that first day in the store, but that was their beginning. Another great read from Jaxson Kidman!
When Lily is assigned to do a story about Veterans her first thought is someone like her grandfather, old and cynical, but thanks to brainstorming with a co-worker, Sara, she decides to focus on the challenges of military personnel coming home and dealing with the traumatic experiences they have lived through. PTSD is an illness that many are faced with, yet unlike any kind of other injury you can't see it by looking at the person. While talking with a man named Joe who helps those soldiers he sets her up with a man named Jed who he thinks is the kind of person for her story. What she gets with Jed is not what she was expecting. The sparks between the two are there, but Jed knows he's not what she needs. Jed is a haunted man who feels like where his heart is there is stone or nothing and the last thing he needs is someone like Lily because she reminds him of a woman from his past and that loss he can't go through again. The more he tries to erase Lily from his mind the deeper she burrows in and finally he gives is. What Lily and Jed have is hot and steamy, but purely physical until is isn't anymore. But a blast from Jed's past now has Lily is the crosshairs and he knows he will do anything to protect her, even if he keeps her in the dark about the threat. I loved this story from Stella Noir. Lily gives Jed a reason to let go of the past and look forward to a future.

The male performers work as double acts and at the heart of it, they are shifter. Owen and Ryan have signed up with Bear Buns to find their true mate and know they will share that mate. When they see Helen they are drawn to her unlike any other. When they learn her name and she sees their mate marks it all makes sense, sort of(for her).
