Jagger and Jenny had one hot night the night before he shipped out overseas for the next year and a half. The last night Stateside all Jagger wants is to get drunk and spend the night with a woman so he heads to the bar. There he sees a redhead who instantly has his and a lot of other guys' attention. He knows he will do whatever to spend time with her, even if it doesn't end in his bed. But it does and for him it's memorable. Now the morning after and Jenny takes off with him having no way of keeping in touch. Now he's back and at a different base where again their paths cross and he knows he will stop at nothing to make her his. But Jenny has a secret she kept from him and when it comes out she risks loosing him forever. These two find their way through misunderstandings to get their happy ending. I loved this book from Joanna Blake!

Pride, Lust and Wrath are the three books in the series that focus on the three Brody brothers and three Miller sisters. Sarah and Beth are on their Rumspringa, an Amish right of passage, where they get to experience the "English" world before they commit to the Amish life. Their oldest sister Hannah left for her Rumspringa 2 years before and never came back, but she had her reasons for staying away. Hannah knows from experience that her sister will need help so she enlists Ash who in turn enlists his brothers Reid and Wyatt. Ash bets his brothers bragging rights to whoever can get with their sister first, without telling them the whole story and to appeal to Reid's competitive nature. What starts for all the wrong reasons with these couples turns into what each was missing, but their stories are not easy. Hannah has baggage from her life before that she has never trusted anyone with, until Ash. Ash was the playboy going from girl to girl just out for a good time, but Hannah is different and soon he realizes he would do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Sarah is the middle sister who used to be adventurous, until one day she wasn't. Reid is the middle brother who is competitive, out for a good time, until Sarah comes in to his life and shows him there is more to life than instant gratification. Beth is the baby sister who has always been more free spirited than her sister Sarah so the chance to experience the "English" world has her looking forward to what ever happens yet nervous at the same time. Wyatt as the youngest brother is the hothead of the boys, not knowing what he wants to do with his life yet bucking against what his brothers think. All that changes for him when he sees Beth for the first time. The more he gets to know her the more it's like everything aligns and he has a peace he never had before. This series featured a different type of girl but are hits in my book. Okay, I read the two books out of order, but that's okay. I'm in love with them both!!!
Yes, I love Jason Thorn. I liked him at the beginning. He was quite a player, but seemed to truly be sincere around those he cared about. He hasn't always made the best choices since he became famous and, unfortunately, that's cost him in the long run. Olive has written and published a best selling book as an indie author. Now a studio wants to make it into a movie... and they want Jason Thorn to play the lead. Years ago, Jason was her brother's best friend and little Olive Taylor was totally, 100% in love with him. Heck, she even proposed to him the first time they met! But that was so long ago. Olive hasn't even seen or heard from him in forever, not since he moved away. Now this project has thrown them back together and Olive's not quite sure how to handle it. After all this time, is she still in love with Jason? This story has it's bumps, hiccups, laughs, and tears. It pulls at the heart-strings and takes me back to school girl crushes. Would that they all had the HEA that Ella gives us here! I think Jason's book boyfriend perfectness is captured in something he says to Olive: "I never want you to run away from me again, little one. If you do, I will always come after you. I want you to remember that. That being said, I will never give you a reason to run away from me either." That's an "awww" moment for me. Plus, if you read Ella's other book, you get even more "I Love Jason Thorn" moments. His commitment to Olive is absolutely wonderful! This was an excellent addition to this series. I love Caitlyn's writing style and her characters are wonderful. Each of these books has allowed looks back at the previous characters and has followed a well built story. I guess they could be read as stand-alone, but I really recommend reading them all in order!
Finn is broken. Maybe not physically, but his head isn't quite right anymore. Caitlyn does an awesome job of showing the reality of PTSD, not only its effects on the person who has it, but also on the world at large. I love that the heroine, Angie, doesn't "fix" him or cure him. It's heart-breaking to see his struggles, but that's the reality of it. It doesn't make Finn any less lovable or wonderful, it just explains a lot about how he deals with everything. Angie is strong and capable, a proud woman in what's typically a man's job. Caitlyn doesn't make her superwoman, but does make her someone I could admire and like a heck of a lot. Her dealings with Finn are sweet and touching (some are also scorchingly hot!). She is the perfect compliment to his Alpha-ness. Like I said, she doesn't miraculously "fix" Finn, but she is a strong pillar of support when he needs it. This story is a continuation of the previous books. Things get resolved, but we have at lease a couple more Alpha SEALS (and other agency guys) to dream about! This was an excellent addition to this series. I love Caitlyn's writing style and her characters are wonderful. Each of these books has allowed looks back at the previous characters and has followed a well built story. I guess they could be read as stand-alone, but I really recommend reading them all in order! Finn is a SEAL, need I really say more about his book boyfriend perfectness? Okay, I will. He's sweet, charming, fierce (obviously), deep, and vulnerable. I'd feel protected, protective, and fall totally head over heels for him. Seriously an awesome read! Adam and Lucy are amazing! Sure, it starts out with a little peeping, continues with possibly a bit of stalking, which leads to a teeny tiny bit of an arrest... but that's not where it ends. The story is detailed and intricate, heart-wrenching at times, panty melting at others, and totally awe inspiring all together. Lucy and Adam are given to us in-depth. If I didn't know better, I'd say Olive actually wrote their story and gifted it to us. I will definitely be looking for more from this author!
Adam is a spectacular book boyfriend... well, okay, sure, he has Lucy arrested at first, but there were reasons! Anyway, he's definitely Alpha, he's smart, he's strong, he's deep, he's awesome with his kid (way to go DILF), and he is very careful with Lucy's heart. There are times where he feels like just steam rolling her, but that's not what she needs, so he backs off and gives her time to get to where he is. Their road is a rocky one but, for this book boyfriend, I'd strap on the seatbelt and stick around for the entire ride! Kate heads to Manchester England to see her sister and get a break from the craziness that is having an ex that doesn't want to be an ex and working with said ex. Jay is the playboy of the football(soccer) pitch(field) of the Manchester United. With a chance meeting at a meet and greet after the game Jay invites Kate to the after party, there is just something about her and not to mention he watches her talk show. The two have things in common with being in the public eye and sometimes just wanting some privacy, but not wanting to sound like they are complaining. The next two weeks are a whirlwind for Jay and Kate, but what happens when it's time to head back to reality? I loved this book from Avery Wilde! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Chloe by Lacey Silks
Chloe meets Axel when she is at her lowest and he saves her, setting her life back on a path it should have been before that fateful night when everything changed. Axel tries to keep things business between them, but he is drawn to Chloe in a way he never expected. I loved this book from Lacey Silks. Axel and Chloe are hot together, yet he is there for her in any way she needs when again her life is shaken to the core. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Yours by Kim Linwood Danny and Bianca met while she was competing on a new show to marry a billionaire, his best friend. Now away from the cameras and on a cruise to two see if what they found together on the island was real. Danny has some hang-ups because of how they met, Bianca has some hang-ups because of where they live. But when push comes to shove these two find they are better together than apart. I loved this read from Kim Linwood. I was given and ARC in exchange for an honest review. So, this isn't the first book by Eve Langlais that I've put on here, and it sure as heck isn't going to be the last. I have been hooked on Eve's books since I picked the very first one up. She does demons, witches, vampires, weres, aliens, and more. My absolute favorite things about her books is that they always have totally Alpha males and they are packed with serious LOLROFLMAO moments. I have had more than one out-loud laugh/snort/giggle/guffaw/chuckle/might have even peed a little moment from reading Eve's stories.
So, Accidental Abduction is book 1 in a seven book series. Oh my dear sweet Murphy, I love my purple alien guys! Megan is a BBW who may have kind of gotten thrown into the ocean and left to drown by her boyfriend (who is seriously now an EX-boyfriend). Tren is an ex-mercenary turned acquisitionist who may or may not be going against current galactic law by scooping up a big piece of Earth's ocean and life forms for future sale. Of course, he's aiming for the liquid faring variety of life forms, not the land faring ones. Scooping Megan up was purely accidental. But now that he has her... Meg and Tren get along like oil and water. Well, actually, more like fire and gasoline. At the beginning, Tren has it in his head that he's just going to get rid of the pain in the ass human female along with the rest of his cargo. But they start to grow on each other, even while driving each other crazy. The writing is witty and snarky. The characters are amazing! Tren is a great book boyfriend. He literally takes Megan away from everything on Earth that is dragging her down. He is 100% Alpha and is all about looking after his woman (eventually... it happens sooner than later, I promise!). The Brody Bunch series (A Bad Boy and Amish Girl Romance) is split into three books, Pride (Reid and Sarah's story), Lust (Ash and Hannah's story), and Wrath (Wyatt and Beth's story). Three brother's and three sisters whose paths should never have crossed, but they meet and the rest is history!
Ash, Reid, and Wyatt are all sons of the former president of the Bright Falls Beast MC. After their mother passed when they were younger, their father kind of went off the rails and traveled down some dark roads. When their father was put into prison, Ash took over raising his younger brothers and tried to pull them far away from the MC. But, in a small town, there's only so far you can go with a tarnished reputation. Hannah left her Amish community, against her father's wishes, for some very serious reasons. Now, her sisters are coming to see her and she turns to Ash for protection. Something has her terrified, both for herself and her sisters, and, while she won't share all of the details, she knows they're all in danger. Each of the boys has his own reasons for wanting to get to know the girls, they stake their claims almost as soon as they see them. Each girl brings out the best in their guys, and vice versa. So, through the ups and downs of each story, we learn how deep, thoughtful, and protective each Brody brother really can be. They are not faultless, but, then, neither are their women. They're willing to fight for the ones they love and very unwilling to let go. I'd take any one of them for a book boyfriend! May has lived her life sheltered from the outside world along with her sister, after the death of their parents. Wanting to live a life for herself and her sister she takes herself to the Monarch club to tryout as one of their dancers, little does she know just how much her life will change after that night. Decker, Deck, has come to terms with his lot in life figuring he will be one of those guys that remains a virgin. He knows with the club he could have anyone, yet he wants that one that's just for him, not realizing she is about to walk into his life when she shows up to tryout as one of his dancers. Deck falls hard and fast for May, as she does for him, but there is a complication to their forever in the form of May's fiancé( who she doesn't want to marry). I loved the latest from Dani Wyatt. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Decker has so many qualities that make him book boyfriend material, but the fact that he knew without a shadow of a doubt that May was it for him is the best. When he realizes May is in trouble he will stop at nothing to save her and after it is all said and done he would do anything for her sister for the simple fact it makes May happy. |
